All of our production partners are certified according to GlobalG.A.P., the internationally recognized standard for safe, sustainable and responsible agricultural production, from cultivation through to delivery.

This certification not only ensures food safety, but also covers comprehensive environmental and social aspects: protection of the environment and animals, responsible use of water and agrochemicals, and fair working conditions for all employees throughout the value chain.

GlobalG.A.P. – GRASP confirms compliance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights as well as the labour standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Rainforest Alliance, founded in 1987 in New York, stands for sustainable agriculture that conserves natural resources.

SIZA (Sustainable Agriculture in South Africa) certifies compliance with ethical and environmental standards.

SEDEX SMETA is the most widely recognized social audit, with strict requirements regarding labour standards, health and safety.

All fruit in our organic range meets the requirements of EU Organic Regulations (EC) No. 834/2007 and 848/2018 and carries the European or German organic label.

These regulations primarily govern conditions in the cultivation process. This includes the avoidance of synthetic pesticides and readily soluble mineral fertilizers, the promotion of soil fertility, and the protection of natural resources. The use of genetic engineering techniques is also strictly prohibited in organic farming.

Throughout the entire process, from cultivation to harvest, internal checks are carried out continuously, as the producer is committed to complying with our specifications regarding fertilization and plant protection products. Our customers provide precise specifications, some of which go far beyond the legal requirements. Due to their certifications, producers are also constantly audited by an independent body. We carry out our own checks shortly before harvest or have them carried out by experts on site, and we regularly have samples sent to us for laboratory analysis.

Logistics must be just as reliable as production. After harvesting, the goods are immediately sorted, packed, transported by truck to the seaport, and shipped to Europe. To ensure that the temperature remains consistent and appropriate for the type of fruit during transport, the fruit is transported in refrigerated containers, some of which have a controlled atmosphere. Upon arrival in Europe, the shipments are checked for perfect quality at the port, and the results are documented and communicated to us and also to the producers.

These tasks are carried out by our Dutch subsidiary Global Fruit Point Services B.V. and other independent quality controllers on site, such as HDG Services B.V., usually in the port of Rotterdam. A comprehensive outgoing goods inspection is carried out before loading for transport to our customers.

A closed cold chain is guaranteed all the way from the plantation to the food shelves in retail stores.

Our products are regularly tested in German food laboratories to ensure compliance with legal requirements as well as the individual standards of food retailers. Our quality assurance team in Buxtehude has extensive expertise in laboratory analysis and maintains ongoing dialogue with the relevant authorities and institutions.

We select our laboratory partners based on the following criteria:
> state-of-the-art technical equipment
> accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 (the global standard for laboratory accreditation)
> participation in recognized proficiency testing schemes such as QS or Relana, which carry out regular interlaboratory comparisons (ring tests)
> For food analysis, we commission renowned commercial laboratories such as Bilacon, Galab, and GBA Group. This ensures that our products reach our customers in perfect condition and fully compliant with all requirements.

Until 2023, our carbon footprint had been assessed by Climate Partner and our carbon emissions offset through payments to organisations in Southeast Asia.

Since 2025, our carbon footprint has been assessed by Blue North and an agenda has been developed to reduce CO₂ emissions through our influence along the supply chain and to encourage our producers to operate even more sustainably.
