WHAT WE STAND FOR
Quality assurance for the import of fruit and vegetables
The quality, freshness, taste, and texture of fruit and vegetables — as well as food safety — are central components of our daily activities. Quality assurance takes place throughout the entire supply chain, from certified producers, through logistics, export, and refrigerated transport, to the unloading of the fruit at the port and on its way to our customers.
SUSTAINABILITY
We work exclusively with certified producers and packing companies that are committed to working as resource-efficiently as possible. High social standards are a prerequisite for working with us, which we regularly verify during our on-site visits.
TRANSPARENCY
We guarantee traceability from the production site along the entire supply chain to the customer — and ultimately to the consumer. From cultivation to the shelf, we can view the process chain at any time, document it completely, and provide information on when, where, and how the fruit was produced. With our tracing tools, we track oranges, for example, as soon as they leave the tree.
FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE
Preventive information and recommendations from the market are passed on to the producer so that planning reliability can be guaranteed. This ensures that fruit that meets consumer trends and quality requirements will continue to be available on the market in the future.
OUR COMMITMENT:
> Exclusively certified producers
> Continuous laboratory analyses in institutes certified to the highest standards
> Absolute traceability

GLOBAL FRUIT POINT
Our Certifications
The quality of our fruit is our top priority. If you have any questions about our products or quality assurance, please contact us.
As importers and distributors, we are certified according to the following standards:
IFS (Broker)/Higher Level
With the IFS (International Featured Standards) certification, we demonstrate that our work processes guarantee the food safety of our fruit and implement our customers’ quality specifications. The IFS certification is renewed annually.
Organic (EU)
As an importer and marketer of organic fruit, we are obliged to comply with the EU Organic Regulations (No. 834/2007 and 848/2018). The certification attests that no synthetic chemical pesticides or fertilizers are used in cultivation and prohibits the use of genetic engineering.
Fairtrade
The Fairtrade seal guarantees fairly grown and traded products, fair wages, safe working conditions, and environmental protection. As importers, we are committed to paying fixed purchase prices, and an additional premium is used to finance sustainable community projects in the country of origin.
Climate neutral
In 2020, we were certified as a climate-neutral company for the first time. To offset our carbon footprint, we have already supported various climate protection projects, including microloans for women in India for household management with solar-powered energy, which aims to preserve the tropical rainforest. A new international project collaboration is in preparation for summer/fall 2025.

PRODUCERS
We work with certified partners
“Good Agricultural Practice”
All our production partners are certified according to Global G.A.P., the international standard for safe, sustainable, and responsible agricultural production, from cultivation to delivery.
This certification not only guarantees food safety, but also takes into account comprehensive ecological and social aspects: protection of the environment and animals, responsible use of water and chemicals, and fair working conditions for all employees along the value chain.

Certified as responsible
Another certificate is mandatory for our partners:
Global G.A.P. – GRASP confirms compliance with the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights and the labor standards of the International Labor Organization.
Rainforest Alliance, founded in New York in 1987, stands for sustainable agriculture that conserves resources.
SIZA (Sustainable Agriculture in South Africa) certifies compliance with ethical and ecological standards.
SEDEX SMETA is the best-known social audit with strict requirements for labor standards, health, and safety.

Organic certification according to EU standards
All fruits in our organic range meet the requirements of EU Organic Regulations (EC) No. 834/2007 and 848/2018 and carry the European or German organic label.
The provisions of these regulations primarily govern the conditions of the cultivation process. These include the prohibition of synthetic pesticides and easily soluble mineral fertilizers, the improvement of soil fertility, and the protection of natural resources. The use of genetic engineering is also prohibited in organic farming.

MAXIMUM SAFETY
Food inspections along the entire supply chain
ON THE FARM
Throughout the entire process, from cultivation to harvest, internal checks are carried out continuously, as the producer is committed to complying with our specifications regarding fertilization and plant protection products. Our customers provide precise specifications, some of which go far beyond the legal requirements. Due to their certifications, producers are also constantly audited by an independent body. We carry out our own checks shortly before harvest or have them carried out by experts on site, and we regularly have samples sent to us for laboratory analysis.
IN THE LOGISTICS CHAIN
Logistics must be just as reliable as production. After harvesting, the goods are immediately sorted, packed, transported by truck to the seaport, and shipped to Europe. To ensure that the temperature remains consistent and appropriate for the type of fruit during transport, the fruit is transported in refrigerated containers, some of which have a controlled atmosphere. Upon arrival in Europe, the shipments are checked for perfect quality at the port, and the results are documented and communicated to us and also to the producers.
These tasks are carried out by our Dutch subsidiary Global Fruit Point Services B.V. and other independent quality controllers on site, such as HDG Services B.V., usually in the port of Rotterdam. A comprehensive outgoing goods inspection is carried out before loading for transport to our customers.
A closed cold chain is guaranteed all the way from the plantation to the food shelves in retail stores.

INDEPENDENT FOOD ANALYSES
Our fruits are regularly tested in German food laboratories to ensure compliance with legal requirements and the individual guidelines of food retailers. Our quality assurance team in Buxtehude has expertise in laboratory analysis and is in constant contact with the relevant committees.
We select our laboratory partners based on the following criteria:
• State-of-the-art technical equipment
• Accreditation according to ISO/IEC 17025 (global standard for laboratory accreditation)
• Listing in testing rings such as QS or Relana, which carry out regular checks (ring tests)
We commission renowned commercial laboratories such as Bilacon, Galab, and GBA Group to carry out the food analyses. This ensures that the goods arrive at the customer in perfect condition.

On the way
… zur Klimaneutralität
Until 2023, our carbon footprint had been assessed by Climate Partner and our carbon emissions offset through payments to organisations in Southeast Asia.
Since 2025, our carbon footprint has been assessed by Blue North and an agenda has been developed to reduce CO₂ emissions through our influence along the supply chain and to encourage our producers to operate even more sustainably.
